The winter gives away it's icy cold
Gradually to life that has been hidden
beneath its blanket of snow
in darkness, waiting to be seen anew
The spring in its own time
gives way to longer, warmer days
The new life it spawns in summer
blossoms, matures, withers and fades
And autumn brings a coolness to the mornings
Ever so slowly, darkness falls earlier
Making each day shorter, more change, more change
As the sun drifts away for a time
And winter takes hold once again.
A year is as a human soul
Born unto itself
unchanged by nothing
but that which is within itself
Over time, over time
Unchanged by nothing
But itself.
Gradually to life that has been hidden
beneath its blanket of snow
in darkness, waiting to be seen anew
The spring in its own time
gives way to longer, warmer days
The new life it spawns in summer
blossoms, matures, withers and fades
And autumn brings a coolness to the mornings
Ever so slowly, darkness falls earlier
Making each day shorter, more change, more change
As the sun drifts away for a time
And winter takes hold once again.
A year is as a human soul
Born unto itself
unchanged by nothing
but that which is within itself
Over time, over time
Unchanged by nothing
But itself.
